Geddie targets morale boost at Paul Ricard

#51 AF Corse pilot Glynn Geddie says he's hoping to kick-start his FIA GT3 European Championship campaign in this weekend's Paul Ricard event.

Geddie and team-mate Michael Brown have endured a trying start to their maiden season in the pan-European championship, picking up just 16 points and lying 14th in the drivers' standings. Meanwhile their AF Corse team-mates Francesco Castellacci and Federico Leo scored a win at Silverstone and currently sit fourth in the championship.

But despite their difficulties Scotsman Geddie is convinced that better things lie ahead for the pair, and believes that a result in France can be the catalyst for a strong second half to the campaign.

"This season has been a steep learning curve for both of us and we have suffered from reliability issues that have been totally out of our hands, which has been frustrating for the whole team," said Geddie.

"Most importantly, we need to finish both races, and in the points, this weekend and beyond. Our race pace has been encouraging, and we have a good car and team behind us, so we need to convert this into strong results.

"I'm really hoping we can shake off our bad luck and get onto the podium which I think will be just what we need to get some momentum going for the rest of the season," he concluded.

Geddie and Brown's best finish thus far came with P4 at Silverstone. Rounds six and seven of the FIA GT3 European Championship take place at Paul Ricard this weekend (July 16-17).
