| 23.07.2009 DSC: Euser takes points lead at Zolder
Cor Euser took over the Dutch Supercar Challenge championship lead at Zolder at the weekend.
The Dutch driver took a win and a second place in the two races to take over the lead of the premier GT category from Martin Short, who was on British GT Championship duty at Donington.
Euser gave best to David Hart and Peter Versluis’ Mad & Daring Team Ferrari F430 in race 1, his works Marcos Mantis finishing almost 18 seconds adrift of the race winners. The Racing4Holland Dodge Viper of Robert de Graaff and Phillipe Ribbens took third.
Carworld Motorsport took a 1-2 in the Supersport I category with the Renault Megane Trophy car of Rene Wijnen and Pieter Dubois leading home team mate Erol Ertan in the sister car. Kees Kreijne’s Gravity Racing Aston Martin Vantage was third.
Euser fought for much of race 2 with the V-Max Racing Mosler of Berry van Elk, eventually finishing just four seconds clear. De Graaff and Ribbens completed a strong weekend in third.
Carworld enjoyed another 1-2 in the Supersport I class, this time with Ertan taking the victory ahead of Wijnen and Dubois. Kreijne scored another podium in third.
The Supersport II and Sport I classes held two separate races from the GT and Supersport 1 categories and both races were won by the JR Motorsport BMW E46 of Bert van der Zweerde and Richard van den Bos.
In race 1 the pair took the overall win and Supersport II honours from Robin and Ferry Monster in the Riwal / Team Moreel Seat Leon Supercopa, with the Brax Racing Saker Sportscar GT of Milko Tas and Bob Herber in third.
The Sport I class was won by Leon Zappeij LZ Racing BMW M3 E36 ahead of Nico Been’s privateer Renault Clio RS 2.0. The similar Spirit Racing car of Rob Nieman was third.
Race 2 saw the van den Bos / van der Zweerde BMW romp home to a dominant 59 second victory from Luco Hornsveld’s Pennucci Racing Seat Leon Supercopa. Luc de Cock was third in the Deldiche Racing Lotus 2 Eleven.
Sport 1 was taken by the European Talents Racing BMW E36 M3 of Koen Bogaerts and Nik de Jong who led home Laurens de Wit’s Downforce Motorsport BMW 130i. Completing the podium was the Braspenning Racing BMW E36 of Eline Braspenning and Iman van Schelven.
