CARGTDUTCH SUPERCAR CHALLENGE

Champion teams join forces for DSC

Three-time champions Brinkmann Motorsport and two-time title winners UHC Speed have joined forces to compete in the Dutch Supercar Challenge in 2011.

The German squad, now to be known as Team Brinkmann UHC Speed, will be run by Olly Brinkmann as the series’ powerhouses join forces to run a single Audi R8 LMS.

The team has signed three Dutch drivers, Danny van Dongen, Ardi van der Hoek and Robert de Graaff to lead, its title charge.

“I tested the Audi R8 for the first time two weeks ago and it is a very impressive car,” said former GT class champion van der Hoek.

“The car has 550bhp. I’ve been racing for many years and I’ve never had so much horsepower at my disposal! The Audi is fast!

“I won the championship with Brinkmann Motorsport three years ago and although I’ve spent the last two years racing in Dutch GT4, we’ve always kept in touch.

“I think we have a very good team and we are definitely going for the championship in 2011. There are 19 or 20 cars in the GT class so it’s a great grid.”
