Van Lagen back for DSC title bid

Experienced racer Jaap van Lagen will return to the Dutch Supercar Challenge this season as he bids to win the title having finished second in his rookie season in 2010.

The 34-year-old will again partner Wolf Nathan in a Supersport I category Porsche 911 although the duo, who missed out on last year’s crown by just three points despite racking up six wins and seven pole positions, will switch to the Land Motorsport team having previously run with Bas Koeten Racing.

Van Lagen, who also raced full-time in the Porsche Supercup last season alongside outings in the Belgian Touring Car Series and Superleague Formula, has a wealth of experience that includes the World Touring Car Championship and a title in the Eurocup Megane Trophy.

Nathan has previously raced in the Dutch BMW Compact Cup and selected 24H Series and Dutch Winter Endurance Series events prior to his DSC debut last year and is looking forward to returning to the championship after a strong test at Assen recently.

“Land Motorsport has years of experience racing Porsches in several different championships and classes,” said the 42-year-old.

“The co-operation at the recent Assen test was excellent. These guys know the car through and through and we tested everything we wanted to and set some good lap times.

“Our ambitions are very clear. Although I want to learn a lot from Jaap and have lots of fun driving this superb car, winning is the ultimate goal.”
