Brit GT: Aston to return to G4

Aston Martin GT4 duo James Appleby and Ant Scragg will pair up to make their British GT debuts at Snetterton this Bank Holiday Weekend.

Appleby and Scragg have entered the Vantage GT4 car into the series’ G4 class. It will be the first time that Aston Martin has run in the G4 class since 2009.

The car will be run by Appleby Engineering. The 21-year-old Appelby told Motorsport News that the Aston Martin should no longer be seen as an underdog.

“The Aston Martin has always been an underdog in GT4 and we want to prove that’s no longer the case with the new model,” he said. “Ant and I have raced together all year so we know each other’s style. This is a one off at the moment but we are looking at a full year in 2011 if it’s successful.”
