British GT: Turner looking forward to Silverstone

Darren Turner contests the next rounds of the British GT at Silverstone and hopes to compete in more British GT races later on in the year.

When he heads to the Northamptonshire track next weekend the British driver will be racing in the Beechdean/Barwell Motorsport Aston Martin DBRS9 alongside team boss Andrew Howard.

This race will be the 36 year-old’s first taste of GT3 racing. Turner has taken two GT1 wins at the Le Mans 24 Hours racing for the Aston Martin team.

Turner told Motorsport-news, “I’m really excited about Silverstone it will be a good change of pace. I’ve driven the GT3 a lot in its development phase but not actually raced one.

“It’s going to be different from the GT1 Aston I race because, although the power will similar, the difference in breaking and grip will be huge.

“There is also a possibility I could race at Brands Hatch in September and if this goes well I’d love to do more in Britain.”
