Brands Hatch poised for Britcar finale

Brands Hatch could host the Britcar Endurance Championship’s three-hour season finale, series bosses have confirmed.

The Into the Night race is scheduled to take place at Donington Park on November 5/6. But concerns currently surround a number of national events while the Leicestershire venue is embroiled in a noise level dispute with the local council.

Britcar boss James Tucker confirmed that a contingency plan was in place to move the race to Brands Hatch which was previously scheduled to hold a non-championship 90-minute at the end of the month.

“We are disappointed that there is uncertainty but the first option would be to support Donington Park,” he told Motorsport News.

“But we have to protect ourselves and we’ve contacted the MSA and have agreed that we can make our last race of the year, which was meant to be a non-points round at Brands Hatch on November 19, into a points-paying race.”
