ASM planning SPEED EuroSeries entry

Former Le Mans Series LMP2 champions ASM Team has announced plans to enter the SPEED EuroSeries in 2012.

The Portuguese outfit currently operates a front-running Ginetta-Zytek in the LMS but has plans to begin a two-car operation in the junior prototype championship which takes place on the same package and is intended to act as a stepping stone to LMP competition.

An ASM spokesperson said: “ASM sees the SPEED EuroSeries as a very interesting and growing championship combining exciting driving on fantastic tracks and top class events with realistic costs.”

Portugal will have two representatives in the next SPEED EuroSeries event at Spa-Francorchamps where brothers Pedro and Manuel Breyner join Pegasus racing.
