SPEED: Garofall gets LMS chance

The reigning SPEED UK Series champion has signed with British racing team RLR Motorsport, and will be behind the wheel of their LMP2-spec MG-Lola for the final two rounds of the campaign.

Garofall will be racing with Warren Hughes and Barry Gates, and the 38-year-old’s first race for the team will be on the weekend of August 21/22 at the Hungaroring in Hungary.

The British driver spoke of his delight to Motorsport News and still couldn’t believe his luck.

“It’s not sunk in yet I still feel like I’m dreaming,” he said. “I raced with Barry in SPEED last year and the deal has come through him.

“The car is immense, I’ve only driven it a couple of times but the speed is huge, it’s the most exhilarating thing I’ve driven.”
