Brundles team up at Greaves for Le Mans assault

1990 Le Mans winner Martin Brundle will return to the French classic next season after firming up a deal to compete alongside son Alex with Greaves Motorsport.

The former F1 racer was a regular at Le Mans in the late eighties before triumphing aboard a TWR-run Jaguar XJR-12 in '90. He subsequently returned to grand prix racing but made four more appearances at the Circuit de la Sarthe following his F1 retirement, last competing there in 2001 with Bentley.

He will make his Le Mans return over a decade on in one of the crack Greaves outfit's Nissan-powered Zytek LMP2 machines. The team claimed class honours at last year's race as well as sealing the Le Mans Series LMP2 title.

Brundle's son Alex will be making his first appearance at Le Mans. The 21-year-old has predominantly raced single-seaters, spending 2011 in Formula Two, but revealed via his Twitter feed that he will contest both Le Mans and the LMS with Greaves.

"[I'm] really looking forward to Le Mans and LMS with Nissan and Greaves motorsport," the Brit Tweeted this morning.

A third Le Mans driver is yet to be confirmed by the team.
