LMS: Team Bruichladdich hope for more success in Budapest

Team Bruichladdich are aiming for more success in the 2010 Le Mans Series as Tim Greaves, Karim Ojjeh and Thor-Christian Ebbesvik head for the Hungaroring 1000 kms this weekend.

The team performed well in the last round of the championship back in July in the Algarve with a podium finish and will be looking emulate that in Budapest.

Most of the teams will be on a level playing field this weekend as it is the first time the Le Mans Series has staged a race at the Hungaroring, but RML and the Pescarolo cars of Oak Racing have raced at the Budapest track in the past.

Team Bruichladdich are currently sixth in the LMP2 championship standings with 32 points, only 23 points behind the championship front runners RML, who are on 55 points with two races of the series remaining.

The Budapest track is known for being tight and hard to overtake, so a good qualification time will be needed, but Ojjeh believes they have the right car to do well.

“It’s a very good car that generates a lot of downforce so we should feel at home on the circuit,” he said. “It should not be forgotten that some of our main rivals like RML and the Pescarolos have already raced on this track. It’ll be a grand première for all the other LMP2 teams."
