This weekend’s Silverstone 1000kms boasts an impressive 47-car entry list for what is the final round of the Le Mans Series and the first of the new Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.
After disappointing turn outs for the races in the Algarve and Hungaroring, the LMP1 category is boosted by the return of factory entries for Audi, Peugeot and Aston Martin Racing.
Audi will run a pair of R15s, with AMR also entering a pair of Lola Aston Martins alongside the factory-assisted Signature Plus entry. Peugeot has a single 908 HDi for Anthony Davidson and Nicolas Minassian as well as the Oreca-run car of Nicolas Lapierre and Stephane Sarazzin.
Drayson Racing also returns with its Judd-powered Lola Coupe and the Beechdean Mansell Ginetta of Nigel Mansell and sons Leo and Greg will also compete.
LMP2 and the Formula Le Mans categories boast 19 cars between them, with 14 in the always-competitive GT2. GT1 is again the worst supported class with just the Larbre Competition Saleen on display.
