LMS: Meyrick joins Aston's Silverstone line-up

Aston Martin Racing has added Andy Meyrick to its Le Mans Series line-up for the championship’s final round of the season at Silverstone next weekend.

The Welshman will partner Harold Primat and Adrian Fernandez in the team’s #007 LMP1 entry at the 1000kms event, which has also been designated the opening Intercontinental Le Mans Cup round.

The British manufacturer is the third major sportscar team to run Meyrick in 2010 after the 24-year-old campaigned a Dyson Lola in the ALMS season opener at Sebring, before finishing fourth at the Le Mans 24 Hours driving for ORECA.

And Meyrick, who has already tested the prototype at Donington Park, is hoping for a good result.

“It’s a real privilege to be a British driver competing with Aston Martin at our home circuit,” he said. The car has proven to be competitive as it’s performed well in the earlier 2010 Le Mans Series races. I have two great team mates in Adrian and Harold, so overall I’m hoping for a good result.”
