World class endurance racing is alive and well in Europe thanks to the Le Mans Series! Four divisions, factory teams, top line drivers and some of the most famous circuits in the world make the LMS a force to be reckoned with.
The battle lines are drawn in LM P1 between Audi and Peugeot both have diesel power and both have hard to equal driver line ups. In the petrol class it will be Pescarolo versus Oreca Courage and Lola- Aston Martin. Porsche enters the LM P2 fight with its proven race winning RS Spyder. In LM GT1 it will be Corvette versus Saleen and in LM P2 it will be long time rivals Porsche and Ferrari battling for class honours.
Monza, Barcelona, Spa-Franchorchamps, the Nurburgring and Silverstone will be the venues for the five 1000km races that, while being endurance events will have the feel of sprint races.
Veteran drivers from Allan McNish, Dindo Capello, Emanuel Collard, Nicolas Minassian, Pedro Lamy, Stephane Sarrazin and Oliver Panis will team with and compete against some of the brightest newcomers in the sport from Alex Premat to Mike Rockenfeller in the prototype class. While in the GT categories there will be a mix of some of the top GT drivers gracefully combined with some of the best and most enthusiastic gentleman drivers across Europe.
