Team Leipert reveals Dubai 24 Hours line-up

Team rhino’s Leipert has named its driver line-up for next weekend’s Dubai 24 Hours as the German squad makes its sixth consecutive appearance in the early-season endurance race.

For the first time, Leipert will field its one of its new GT3 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560s in the event, having previously competed with an Ascari KZ1R, and the squad has announced a young line-up with four of its five drivers under the age of 22.

The team will be made up of two Austrians, Gerhard Tweraser and Dominik Baumann, and three Czechs, Petr Charouz, Jan Stovicek and Jakub Knoll.

The 22-year-old Tweraser and 18-year-old Baumann both raced in the German-based ADAC Formel Masters last year, while the 19-year-old Knoll is young another single-seater prospect having competed in the Formula Renault 2.0 Europcup in 2010. Charouz (20) and Stovicek (32), meanwhile, spent last season racing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

“For Dubai, it is our goal to finish among the top 10,” said team boss Inigo Leipert. “Despite their young age, our drivers are very experienced. Especially the drivers with vast experience in Formula races know how important it is to show consistency and how to drive with care of the material over the racing distance.

“We have been gaining much experience on the Dubai Autodrome over the past years and are very confident. The entire team enters the first race of 2011 highly motivated and with much anticipation.”

Meanwhile, the team is also planning two field a pair of GT3 Lamborghinis in the ADAC GT Masters, FIA GT3 European Championship and Belcar in 2011 as well as entering the Spa 24 Hours.
