ALMS: Audi confirm ILMC line-up

Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen will pair up for Audi in the inaugural International Le Mans Cup.

McNish’s regular partner with the Audi team is Dindo Capello, but Kristensen is usually drafted in for the longer endurance races.

The two drivers will begin their permanent partnership in the #7 Audi R15 at the Le Mans Series finale, the Silverstone 1000kms, next month and continue through Petit Le Mans and the new six-hour race at Zhuhai in China.

Capello will join the #7 car as the third driver at Road America, but at the Silverstone race will be paired up in the #8 car with Timo Bernhard, and in China he will race with Romain Dumas.

Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer will come in to drive the #9 Audi for Petit Le Mans.
Wolfgang Ullrich, the Audi Sport boss, told Autosport, the driver rotations are part of their plans looking ahead to the new 2011 season.

“Because there's only a make and team but no driver classification we're using the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup as an opportunity to integrate the drivers who haven't competed for us very often, even better with our team," he said. "Our aim is to compete at Le Mans in 2011 with the same drivers as this year."
