ALMS ace Hand gets DTM test

ALMS GT Class champion Joey Hand will test BMW's new-for-2012 DTM car next week.

The American won the endurance series title for the RLL squad alongside fellow works BWW man Dirk Muller. The German has already been behind the wheel of M3 DTM, and now Hand will get his chance with a run at Spanish venue Monteblanco.

"We are looking forward to the feedback from Joey Hand, who has enjoyed a superb ALMS season together with Dirk Muller," commented BMW motorsport director Jens Marquardt

"Joey's test also proves how tightly our various motorsport campaigns mesh together," added Marquardt.

BMW's newly-signed DTM star Bruno Spengler will lead the test having been released from his Mercedes contract early. Dirk Werner and Augusto Farfus will also drive, the latter having been confirmed for a DTM seat next season.
