ALMS: 35 cars set for Sebring opener

35 cars are set to line-up on the grid for the 58th 12 Hours of Sebring, the opening round of the American Le Mans Series, later this month.

15 prototypes and 20 GT cars will be spread across the series’ five classes for American sports car racing’s most demanding endurance race at the challenging Florida circuit.

The biggest surprise on the provisional entry list is a CA10-Judd P1 car from former Le Mans Series front runners Creation Autosportif, although no drivers have been confirmed so far. Creation’s entry boosts the P1 grid to seven cars, with three set to line-up in P2.

The GT2 class sees nine teams representing six manufacturers, while the new LMPC category for Oreca FLM09 prototypes has attracted five entries, one less than the GTC class for Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars.
