The 2013 American Le Man Series aired live on Motors TV

The ALMS (American Le Mans Series) is live on Motors TV in 2013. It is the endurance championship of record in the United States. While it retains its links with Le Mans and its rules, it has created its own flair and a certain amount of independence to insure the Americans fans are treated to a spectacle at each and every round. The ALMS was created in 1999 by businessman Dan Panoz, who reached an agreement with the ACO, organiser of the 24-Hours of Le Mans, to put on races similar to that of the greatest endurance in the world. The “Petit Le Mans was held for the first time in 1998 at Road Atlanta, however, times are changing and this season will be the final go round for the ALMS, before the merger with Grand-Am for 2014.
Prestigious teams such as Penske, Andretti, Acura and of course Audi have all battled and enjoyed tremendous success in this Made in the USA, which has raced on the finest circuits in North America from Sebring, to Long Beach, Road America, Laguna Sec and Mosport.

Muscle Milk versus Dyson

For the past two seasons, the team to beat has been Greg Pickett’s Muscle Milk squad and its German duo of Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr, while the Dyson family team has enjoyed occasional success. This season they’ll be joined by the Swiss Rebillion tem and its Toyota powered Lola. In LM P2, Level 5 has led the way, but this year Extreme Mostosport will be a leading title contender.

Battle royal in GT

Often the most intriguing battles in the ALMS are found in the GT category. And for 2013, Corvette, Ferrari, BMW and Porsche will make it a titanic battle for the constructor’s title. Rahal-Letterman-Lanigan Racing will race the all new Z4 GTE, while Flying Lizard returns as does Risi Competizione with the Ferrari 458 Italia. And no one should count out the new and improved Pratt and Miller Corvette. In GTC, it will be another inter Porsche skirmish with a strong entry of GT3 Cups. The LMPC class is also expected to expand with a host of new drivers looking to move up the sports car racing ladder.  One thing is sure, the American Le Mans Series never disappoints when it comes to hard fought close battles.

For 2013, Motors TV offers the most comprhensive coverage of American motor racing. In addition to the ALMS, the NASCAR Nationwide Series and Grand-Am Road Racing Championship will be aired live or on a delayed basis.
