Fuertes, Gimbert crash captured.Sergio Fuertes completed just one lap at his home round of the World Superbike Championship at Valencia's Circuit Ricardo Tormo on Sunday before suffering a huge accident. The Team Suzuki Motorrad rider lost control on the entry to the high-speed first turn, collecting the unfortunate Sebastien Gimbert in the process and sending them both cartwheeling through the gravel.Fortunately, both riders escaped serious injury, although neither made the start of race two.Fuertes fractured the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot, while Gimbert declared that he was not feeling particularly well, but didn't bother going for a check-up either at the Clinica Mobile or the medical centre, an official source confirmed to Crash.net.The Frenchman was ultimately prevented from taking to the track in the afternoon's second event by his team, which had one eye on future commitments. We had to stop Sebastien from riding in race two because we only had one bike for him this weekend, and the Le Mans 24 Hours is coming up soon, so we had to prioritise that, explained Yamaha GMT94 team manager Christophe Guyot.
