WSS: Crutchlow win extends Supersport lead

Yamaha’s Cal Crutchlow extended his World Supersport championship lead with victory in Monza at the weekend.

The British rider took his second win of the season to open up an 18-point lead over Parkalgar Honda’s Eugene Laverty, who finished fourth, in the title race.

Kawasaki’s Joan Lascorz was one of the stars of the race, fighting through the field to claim second, with Crutchlow’s team-mate Fabien Foret settling for third after fighting for the lead in the early stages.

Katsuaki Fujiwara (Kawasaki) and Michele Pirro (Yamaha) were sixth and seventh while Andrew Pitt was the best Honda runner in fifth with Garry McCoy eighth for ParkinGO Triumph.
