WSBK: Smrz stays with Team Guandalini



Team Guandalini Ducati has confirmed that it has renewed the contract of Jakub Smrz for the 2010 World Superbike Championship season.

The Czech-born rider enjoyed his best ever season with the Italian outfit this year recording his maiden pole position and podium finish on his way to tenth in the overall standings.

The 26-year-old will now enter into a third season with the Bologna-based team and his fourth riding a Ducati having made his WSBK debut with SS Caracchi Ducati in 2007.

His best result this season came with a third place finish at Assen, while he also impressed with a pair of fourth place finishes in the races at Imola.
