Searle victorious in Sevlievo

Team Floride Monster Energy Kawasaki Pro Circuit dominated MX2 proceedings at round two of the World Motocross Championship in Sevlievo, Bulgaria last weekend where Tommy Searle emerged victorious over team-mate Joel Roelants.

Having already wrapped up the qualifying race, Searle was primed to take victory in Sunday’s opening heat before losing his front brake, allowing Roelants to move clear. The Belgian eventually headed home Jeffrey Herlings by just under ten seconds.

Third place for Searle

Third place for Searle however ensured that the Briton would still be in contention for the overall victory. Leading from start to finish undoubtedly helped as Roelants slipped back to fourth by the finish behind Herlings, who once again defied his poor starting position to come home second, and Jeremy van Horebeek.

All of that saw Searle finish a point clear of championship leader Herlings while Roelants ended up third. Van Horebeek’s consistency paid off to give him fourth with Max Anstie’s sixth and fifth place finishes helping him to take fifth. Harri Kullas was sixth ahead of Dylan Ferrandis, Alexander Tonkov, Jake Nicholls and Alessandro Lupino. The 2012 World Motocross Championship is live on Motors TV throughout 2012.
